Who we are
These terms cover websites built and looked after by ROOTED ("we", "us"). Questions: hello@madebyrooted.co.uk. Our services are for businesses and self-employed practitioners, not for personal use.
What you're buying
The Signature Website is a set-up fee of £249 followed by £49 a month. The set-up fee covers designing, writing and building your website. The monthly fee covers hosting, security updates, back-ups, your domain name, small changes and support from your account manager.
Payments
- The £249 set-up fee is taken when you sign up.
- Your first £49 monthly payment is taken on the day your website goes live, or 60 days after you sign up, whichever comes first. Payments then continue on the same date each month.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices include any VAT that applies.
Minimum term and cancelling
The monthly plan has a minimum term of 12 months from your first monthly payment. After that it continues month to month, and you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice by emailing us.
If you'd like to leave during your first 12 months, you can: just pay a one-off early exit fee of £150 instead of the remaining monthly payments. We'll then transfer your domain name to you and send you a copy of your words and photos, as described below.
Changing your mind
If you change your mind within 14 days of signing up and we haven't yet sent you your homepage, we'll refund the set-up fee in full.
Your launch promise
We aim to have your site live within 14 days of receiving your completed questionnaire, photos and approvals. If we miss that because of a delay on our side, your first three monthly payments are free.
Your content and your responsibilities
We write your pages from the information you give us and follow your professional body's advertising guidance, but you approve everything before it goes live and you're responsible for making sure it's accurate. Please don't ask us to publish anything you don't have the right to use, such as photos you didn't take or haven't licensed.
Changes to your site
Small changes, such as new text, photos, fees or opening hours, are included and usually made within one working day. Larger work, such as new pages or a redesign, is quoted separately before we start.
Who owns what
- Your words, photos, logo and domain name are yours.
- The design, code and hosting are provided by us for as long as you're subscribed.
- If you leave, we'll transfer your domain name to you and send you a copy of your words and photos.
Our liability
We take care to keep your site secure and online, but we can't guarantee it will never be unavailable. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change affects you.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
